It’s a humbling realization that a single strand of RNA completely turned our lives upside-down. Many of us had to cancel clinics, trips, parties, meetings and so much more. The 2020 American Dermoscopy Meeting (ADM) scheduled to take place in Utah in July was not spared from the pandemic’s force. While many of us were looking forward to learning dermoscopy and hiking the Narrows in Zion National Park, we were forced to simplify our lives and practice social distancing.
Many of us were also provided with a gift of time. We all utilized this gift in different ways. I picked up a new hobby – birdwatching. This helped me to connect with the wild around me. Now as we slowly emerge out of the pandemic we need to focus on getting our patients back into clinic with the aim of finding and treating the skin cancers that may have gone undetected during the Covid lockdown.
Towards this end the ADM would like to provide all with a one day on-line dermoscopy refresher course on September 12, 2020. During this one day meeting we will focus on skin cancers and discuss many unknowns. The faculty will try and remove any cobwebs that may have developed and share new information about dermoscopy. See you soon in the virtual world and hopefully in person at the 2021 ADM in Colorado Springs near Rocky Mountain National Park.
