| Dear Colleague: Situated in California’s High
Sierra is one of the US National Parks greatest jewels –
Yosemite National Park. It is my pleasure to announce that the
fourth annual American Dermoscopy Meeting (ADM) will be held at
Tenaya Lodge in spectacular Yosemite National Park on August
13-15, 2015. The demand for dermoscopy
education continues to escalate. Similar to trends in other
parts of the world, dermatologists and an increasing number of
family physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants
in the United States are eager to learn the benefits and
insights provided by dermoscopy. In addition, those already
acquainted with this technique remain enthusiastic about
receiving updates on what’s new in dermoscopy and are
continuously seeking ways to refine their skills. As we
witnessed during previous ADM courses, dermoscopy is not limited
to dermatologists and primary care practitioners but is also
being embraced by some members of other specialties such as
ophthalmology, plastic surgery, pathology, oncology, and
radiation oncology. It is now firmly established
that dermoscopy improves diagnostic accuracy. The alarming rise
in skin cancer incidence combined with the pressure to detect
these cancers as early as possible has fueled the want in many
to learn dermoscopy. This increasing need for dermoscopy
education coupled with the limited number of dermoscopy experts
has created a void, which the ADM is designed to fill. The
content of the fourth ADM course will include information that
will benefit clinicians at all levels of dermoscopy training
from beginners to seasoned practitioners. The faculty strives to
alter the content of each ADM significantly enough so as to
provide returning attendees ample amounts of new insights,
information and means to assist in refining their diagnostic
skills. In addition, based on the success of last years format
we will continue to include key lectures on management/therapy
of skin cancer. The majority of medical
conferences are held in large metropolitan centers and as a
consequence most American health care providers, as well as
visiting international attendees, are well acquainted with the
big cities of the US. While cities have a lot to offer, the most
splendid parts of the United States, its National Parks, remain
unseen and are known only by name or images. Each year the ADM
will host the dermoscopy course at a different National Park in
the US. The landscapes in these parks are truly masterpieces of
nature that provide visitors with a myriad of outdoor activities
to choose from. We invite you to come and learn dermoscopy in
surroundings that hold some of the most majestic and
breathtaking vistas the world has to offer. I look forward to meeting you
in the great valley carved out by glaciers eons ago and
surrounded by granite cliffs, meadows, ancient giant sequoias
and waterfalls of Yosemite National Park in August 2015 at the
4th Annual American Dermoscopy Meeting. With a warm
				welcome,
				 Dr. Ashfaq A. Marghoob
